3 years ago when we asked this question to parents in Davanagere during our address to parents, never did we imagine a day like this where we see empty classrooms and the teachers coming to School with a hope to see classroom full of amazing children with a bundle of energy to teach again!
But as the time passed and days grew longer, 2nd wave started and deep in their thoughts, a sudden silence! What is happening? What’s the future? Many Teacher Educators are asking themselves a question “what it meant to be a teacher” and what was that made them choose teaching as a profession in the first place and for many, it is a true PASSION.
Those little moments of JOY OF TEACHING, triumph, the beautiful smiles of children or they saying Thank you Ma’am in their cuteness, and making a difference, seemed suddenly invaluable.
So what is the true meaning of a “School”? A school without children is simply a building”!
Teachers realised what is School without children in the classroom! Children were the school, children were the curriculum and they are the ones helping us stay humble and stand tall.
It’s the beautiful smiles of children and the tears at times, the joyful moments and the intangible connection between children and Teacher educators all that makes this Teaching profession more meaningful and purposeful.
Like us, I am sure, each of you – “Teacher Educators” are eagerly waiting to get back to your classrooms and see those amazing children with smiles back in full of energy and enthusiasm, waiting to enjoy your TEACHING!”
Let us have HOPE! Stay safe and look forward to better days for all of us!
